Welcome all Magnet Parents:
We are so pleased your student is part of the Cleveland Humanities Magnet program at Cleveland High School. From our administrator, Gabriel Lemmon, to our teachers, parents and students, we are all excited about the forays made by this program, the foundation it provides and the academic achievements of our students.
All of the parents of Cleveland Magnet students are members of the Magnet Parents Association (MPA). Our organization has two primary functions: 1) to supply information and knowledge to our parents and other stakeholders about the Magnet program; and 2) to find resources through time, talent and financial contributions to support the program. Both of these functions are designed to empower parents to be a part of the program to the extent they can be and to continue to enhance its offerings. We are, in many ways, the best ambassadors for Cleveland Humanities Magnet to other families, to the school district, to our elected officials and many others.
The MPA communicates with families in a number of ways:
- Through our quarterly MPA newsletter, which provides information about the activities of each grade level, teachers, and program successes, etc.
- Via this web site, which has been recently redesigned and is currently being updated; and
- Through periodic mailings or flyers about events hosted or sponsored by the MPA.
We hope you will join us at our monthly MPA meetings, which are usually held the third Wednesday of each month, starting at 7:00 p.m. We meet in the Parents Resource Room, located behind the MPR. All are welcomed. Please check our calendar on this web site for specific meeting dates as well as the dates of other events.
The MPA has evolved considerably since its inception and is continuing to grow. We welcome your input, ideas and talents. We are only as strong as the links we create with and among each other. This program matters a great deal, and you matter to all of us.
Please feel free to contact me directly at bgoodmancomm@roadrunner.com with questions or suggestions. I hope to hear from you.
Warm regards,
Bonnie Goodman
